The Federal Government says it will give 5% of recovered loot from anyone who helps it track funds stolen from the government coffers.

Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, disclosed this in Abuja, on Wednesday to State House correspondents while briefing them on the outcome of the Federal Executive Council meeting.

In a report, Adeosun said the council approved a whistle blowing policy, aimed at strengthening President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption.

She further said a bill which is already receiving attention from the lawmakers, would be passed to drive the anti graft policy.

Guardian ng reports that the Minister assured the identities of the whistleblowers would be adequately protected to safeguard them.

“If you whistle-blow in public-spirit and in good faith, you will be protected. If you feel that you have been treated badly because of your report, you can file a formal complaint.

“If you have suffered harassment, intimidation or victimisation for sharing your concerns, restitution will be made for any loss suffered,” she said.
