The FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, has charged Muslims resident in the Federal Capital Territory to pray for the nation as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.

The Minister who gave this charge in a Sallah Message, today, congratulated Muslim faithful across the country on the completion of the month long Ramadan fast.

Mallam Bello urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for the nation, and reflect on the lessons learnt during the preceding month of Ramadan.

He further urged them to continue to imbibe the teachings of Ramadan in their daily lives, which are premised on selflessness, sacrifice, patience, modesty and spirituality.

His words: “I enjoin you to continue to pray for the nation as it strives to overcome developmental challenges that all nations go through in their history”.

The Minister also called for prayers for the success of the country’s leadership, under President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), for Allah to continue to guide, protect and give him the wisdom to steer the affairs of the state.

Mallam Bello enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of their religious belief and political inclination, to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another; advising: “we should be our brothers’ keeper.”

The Minister used the occasion to call on residents to key into the Household and Community Sanitation Campaign of his Administration, in order to put Abuja environment on a sound pedestal, which will impact positively on their overall health condition.

“Improved personal hygiene and removal of environmental nuisances across the Federal Capital Territory, will remain on the front burner of the current FCT Administration, and collaboration with the residents in this area will go a long way for the success of the campaign,” the Minister added.
