President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotun Idris as the Acting Inspector General of Police (Acting IGP).
Ibriahim, who until his new appointment was an Assistant Inspector General of Police, at the Federal Operations Force Headquarters, replaces Solomon Arase who has since bowed out of office after completing thirty five years in service.
Ibrahim Idris was formally introduced to the media by his predecessor after both officers met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa this Tuesday.
The new police Sheriff who is from Niger State promised to reposition the Nigerian Police Force to operate in line with international best policing methods.
The immediate past IGP Solomon Arase, thanked Nigerians for their support for him while he served in that capacity and solicited same cooperation for his successor.
