Grassroots football match plays the field to promote agriculture

BC SPORTS 3The Chief Executive Officer, and  sponsors of the Ice-Moor AgricUnity Cup, Mr. Isaac Moor says there is the need to promote agriculture through football, involving youth’s participation and conscientizing them to embrace the opportunity provided on agro base produce, since it is the foundation of any given society.BC SPORT 5

Moor who made the call in Jos during the opening ceremony of the competition to harness skills acquisition, said the tournament is meant to bring together youths from around Plateau to participate in training them  on mechanized agricultural  skill;  this he said is not expensive to start, adding that youths need to make money from agriculture (Agro Allied Product) and not to always expend their strength on mischievous and unproductive activities.BC SPORTS 13

He further said that since the company ICE- MOOR GLOBAL LTD is into Mechanized Agricultural Practices and Installations, the tournament would improve the youth’s articulation on productivity, commit to preparing them to regularly compete in TheCitizens tournaments.

During an interview with the organizers at the venue of the knock-out trial of the competition, Mr. Ferrari Jones who is TheCitizens Sports Council Publicity Secretary of Jos North, Jos South, Jos East and  Basa Local Government Council  said  he expects to see more of the fan base to support the teams on which side they function and he stated that the way and manner the fan is coordinated is very key to the peace anticipated.BC SPORTS 11

Mr. Thomas Ecoja, the International, National and Technical Adviser to Tudun-Wada Football Academy, said: “the essence of this competition is to harness talent and motivate them in their various Clubs to play peaceful pitch ball to enable professionalism in their career. “

Commenting on the growing success recorded so far; he said two of the academy players on the tournament are marked for career in football: ” one is with the Nigerian under-17, Haggai Kato while the other deal is concluded to Cordoba Fc Spain for trial Aaron Gambo.

He also added that the Academy will prove to the world that the TheCitizens Neighborhood Shield / Watch Cup is geared to promote football League on the plateau and nationally.

Also at the tournament, Mr. Kelechi Okoye, Chairman and Coach representing Tudun- Wada Football Academy said that the tournament is for the purpose of uniting  club players in the communities to compete in all its events for peaceful co-existence and as a career.

The finals comes up on Sunday 26th June,  2016.
