As Muslim faithful observe this year’s Ramadan fasting, Garba Abari, Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) advices Nigerians on the need for full security alertness during the holy fasting period.
Abari also advised the Muslim Ummah and other Muslim organizations on the intelligence reports the agency received.
He warned that Muslims should be vigilant during morning and evening prayers and to report any suspicious movements or people.
In a statement, the DG said: ’’adequate security and surveillance should be evolved by respective places of worship to forestall any unwholesome act by unscrupulous elements who may want to use Ramadan prayer periods to wreck havoc.’’
Abari also urged all state Directors of the NOA to use all mediums to sensitize the general public on the necessity of greater security alertness during the fasting period and always.
