Former President Goodluck Jonathan has returned to the country after his long absence from the country triggered rumours of his exile in Cote d’Ivoire.
Jonathan who arrived yesterday, said he had been on holiday speaking tour in the United States and other African countries.
The former president’s absence had also triggered tension in the Niger Delta region, fuelling activities of the Niger Delta militants.
President Muhammadu Buhari is slated to flag-off the clean-up of Ogoni land today, in the oil rich region and may use the opportunity to meet with Jonathan, to discuss issues bothering on crises in the Niger Delta.
This may however allay the fears and anger in the region, of rumours that president Buhari had put a hunt for his arrest.
