Fresh trouble looms for the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), as more investigations indict 300 companies in its business dealings, that is replete with irregularities which negates the provisions of Public Procurement Act in Nigeria.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu , in a statement said the committee set up to probe award of contracts from the ONSA from 2011 to 2015 unearthed massive fraud involving prominent Nigerians, including both serving and retired officers of the armed forces.
Shehu further disclosed that N7 Billion has so far been recovered while another N41 Billion is to be refunded by the companies that are in complicity to the fraud.
He said several contractors were over paid while others were given full payment in total disregard for the provisions of the Public Procurement Act.
The Media Assistant further said that more evidence that emerged showed that the ONSA made payments to individuals and companies without any contractual agreement or evidence of job executed.
