The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has reached a new peak of 5074.7MW, in its new record of energy generation. It also wheeled the highest maximum daily energy of 109,372 MWH on Tuesday.
TCN Managing Director, System Operation/Market Operation, Dipak Sarma disclosed in a press release in Abuja, that the twin peak generation was achieved due to the combined efforts by stakeholders in the power sector as well as the National Control Center in ensuring that all generated power is wheeled to distribution companies; that there is no stranded power.
Assistant General Manager, Public Affairs ,TCN, Clement Ezeolisah said the new peak was attained at 9:30pm while the previous peak generation was 4883.9MW and was achieved on 23 November, 2015.
Ezeolisah said the previous highest maximum daily energy wheeled nationwide was 107, 142.32MWH, achieved on the 26 January, 2016.
